As South East Water continues to fail to supply its customers with running water, Conservative MP for East Grinstead & Uckfield, Mims Davies, has been helping volunteers to deliver supplies to the most vulnerable.
Mims and her team worked all hours over the weekend with others to help as much as they could, delivering water to residents of East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages.
There are currently three water stations available for East Grinstead residents who have been left with dry taps, including East Court, East Grinstead Sports Club, Saint Hill Road, East Grinstead, RH19 4JU and the Kings Centre, Moat Road, East Grinstead, RH19 3LN.
Mims has promised residents another update as soon as possible following emergency meetings with DEFRA and South East Water over the crisis.
Mims Davies MP said:
“I’m here at East Court with Helen, our town council leader. A huge thank you to Helen and the volunteers here who are keeping everything going smoothly.
"They’re expecting another delivery later today and will keep you updated on the town council social media page so please do keep an eye on there.
"There are also two other water stations open today until 10pm - East Grinstead Sports Club, Saint Hill Road, RH19 4JU and Kings Centre, Moat Road, RH19 3LN
"I’ll be heading to the East Grinstead Sports Club to thank them and their volunteers too for all they’re doing to help support residents during this emergency situation.
"SE Water have shared they’re moving water around the network to balance the system, while tankers are continuing to pump water into storage tanks to stabilise the amount of water available.”
