Imberhorne Lower School in East Grinstead is to benefit from nearly £3-million of funding agreed by Conservative-run West Sussex County Council. The money will be used to create new pupil toilets and replace 30-year-old modular classrooms.
The move has been welcomed by East Grinstead's Conservative county councillors, including Cllr Jacquie Russell the county's Lead Member in charge of schools.
£2.835m of Section 106 (S106) developer contributions, that are specified for use for education infrastructure works at Imberhorne School, have been identified to undertake a scheme of improvement works at the Lower School. A feasibility study has been undertaken to assess the scope of the works that could be delivered with the available S106 funds. Approval is now sought to finalise the design of the improvement scheme and procure a contractor to complete the works.
