A sell-out Gala Dinner welcomed author, broadcaster and raconteur Iain Dale to the Buxted Park Hotel for an enjoyable evening.
After a delicious three-course dinner, Iain entertained the audience with political tales. The tables were then turned as he was quizzed by our MP, Mims Davies, and we learned fascinating facts about the man's life and experiences (pictured).
Fundraising during the evening included a successful silent auction with lots including a book signed by Mrs Thatcher which, after frantic bidding, eventually sold for a four-figure sum.
Iain was a popular guest and spent time speaking to members and signing copies of his books as a memento of the occasion.
As well as many local members, we were delighted to welcome guests who had travelled some distance to hear Iain and enjoy the venue's wonderful cuisine.
