Group leader of the opposition Conservatives at Mid Sussex District Council, Gary Marsh, is standing as your county council candidate in Worth Forest division, covering Ardingly, Balcombe, Copthorne, Handcross, Pease Pottage and Turners Hill and surrounding areas.
Gary is proud of his achievements over 23 years of service at the District. Working with county, fellow district and parish colleagues he has accomplished much for our area:
• Enabled speed reductions in Ardingly, Balcombe, Handcross, Pease Pottage and Turners Hill working with County and Parish colleagues.
• Supported and achieved Traffic calming in Lion Lane Turners Hill.
• Successfully with District planning colleagues, achieved the controlled traffic crossings outside Worth and Ardingly schools, also outside the Clockfield development in Handcross.
• As the Conservative Group Leader at Mid Sussex, together with Cllr Jacqui Russell, we successfully repealed the much disliked 6-8pm evening car par charges. Not resting on our laurels, we now have Sunday car park charges in our sights.
• Achieved planning permission of the much-loved Millenium Seed Bank at Wakehurst.
• Saved the Prince Albert pub in Copthorne from an unjust planning application.
• Secured funding for the Macnaughton Hall in Pease Pottage.
• Enabled a new St. Catherine's Hospice in Pease Pottage, along with a new school on the Woodgate development.
"By securing planning permissions in the villages, funding for village junior schools has been achieved. This is what local councillors are elected to do. Your priorities are my priorities. I do not promise what I cannot deliver", says Gary.
"The Conservative administration at West Sussex have, year-on-year, delivered a balanced budget with no cuts and no use of reserves. We have a proven track record of sound investment into critical service delivery."
Voting Conservative will be a vote for experienced local Councillor, since 2003 at district council level, with a proven track record of service delivery and the mandate to build upon what we have already achieved.
A vote for the Conservatives will provide stability and protect both the progress we have made and focus on your priorities locally. Unlike other parties who promise the Earth, but cannot deliver. We can and we will.
