It was a delight to host the Conservative Party leadership candidates for a Sussex hustings held in Ardingly last night.
All the candidates had a chance to speak to members from across the county and take questions ahead of the poll which will be after Party Conference.
Several of our MPs were also present and it is they who will decide the final two who go forward to the members' vote.
The event was packed and the evening both informative and enjoyable. We are grateful to the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne, for being an excellent compere.
Event organiser Helen Galley thanked eveyone who attended and said: "I felt it was important that as many members as possible had an opportunity to see, hear and question the candidates.
"Everyone who attended appeared not only to find the event interesting but to actually enjoy it as well, and that each candidate gave an excellent presentation and answered questions frankly and openly. "
