Conservatives have launched a campaign to "Save the summer job” as Labour’s tax rises and workers’ rights reforms threaten to price a generation of young people out of work.
The Conservative Party announced a three-pronged plan on Wednesday that will allow teenagers to work for longer on evenings and weekends while removing red tape for those who hire them.
Andrew Griffith, the shadow business secretary (Conservative for Arundel & South Downs), said higher taxes and burdensome regulations had reduced opportunities for young people to find summer jobs in sectors such as hospitality, retail and tourism.
