We do need housing with the correct infrastructure.
We do not want over-development.
Uckfield and the surrounding area is being strangled by the Green/ Lib Dem/ Labour alliance on Wealden, with over-development that our infrastructure cannot support.
Ecological corridors are being destroyed.
Uckfield’s Lib Dem and Labour councillors sit on Wealden’s Cabinet and planning committee. They are approving developments across the town – even when local objections are raised, including by Uckfield Town Council who asked for Seghers Place to be deferred and were ignored.
The Uckfield Lib Dem Wealden Cabinet member standing for election on Thursday talks about protecting and enhancing our local environment, protecting local habitats, but Lib Dem actions contradict their words.

Pictured is Mockbeggars FARM:to accommodate 60 houses - the alliance has allowed hedgerows to be ripped out, and construction dust is now landing in two ancient woodlands and a local wildlife site.
Meanwhile, at Whitehouse Farm: 240 houses are to be built – a medieval landscape, approved by the Wealden Cabinet, including Uckfield’s two councillors, to go into the draft Local Plan.
"The Uckfield North biodiversity arc is important, but it is being ripped apart piece by piece. We must protect ecological corridors. This is happening across Uckfield, Buxted, Halland, Little Horsted, and Framfield – is this protecting our environment?", says Claire
"I am firmly committed to protecting our countryside.
"What is happening IS NOT sustainable, proportionate or supported by the appropriate infrastructure – just houses, houses, and more houses!!
